I also lost Captain America around level 25 and had to complete the game with Thor. I faced bad guys from all over the Disney universe which forced me to adapt my play style significantly. As hard as this 50 level section was (no saves allowed and when a character dies they are dead) it did add interesting features. In two player both players share the screen but only one can control the camera (which is weird because the game handles 2 players so well in the avengers playset and in the Assault on Asgard game.) "Exploration survival mode" was a 4 hour slog of fighting enemies that increased in difficulty. My character would get stuck on objects, fly off the edge, or he would be obstructed by buildings, walls etc so I couldn't see who I was fighting. These levels were easy until glitchy things made them difficult.
#Thor disney infinity series#
"Escape from the Kyln" was an annoying overhead action series of finding loot for your minion who accompanied you through each level. It didn't add in any of the toy box enemies and continued to reuse the same frost giants from The Avengers playset.

It's a basic tower defense game with the ability to lay traps down to protect Asgardian Artifacts. The Assault on Asgard was the lesser of two evils, but with my high level flying characters it wasn't very challenging. I also had the blessing(CURSE) of the two Toybox games that came with the starter set. If you're into Disney or House/Room customization this is a fun add on to the game.

#Thor disney infinity full#
The "my Interior" part of the game is a nostalgia sidequest extravaganza of characters like Scrooge McDuck, The Genie, and Belle having me add furniture, rooms and windows to my house full of little Disney people. The 2.0 Toy Box is a big melting pot of minecraft, the sims, and build it yourself mini games. I greatly enjoyed this process and it made reaching a new level something to chase after rather than an afterthought.
#Thor disney infinity upgrade#
In true RPG fashion each hero could upgrade different abilities and attacks as they leveled up. My favorite aspect of the game was leveling up different characters because I got more than a pretty statue in the Hall of Heroes. The other characters had some neat abilities but without flight they slowed the game down too much. We played as Thor and Iron Man who come with the box set, but also had the other avenger's characters available at launch. It's faster than running and helped us avoid using tricky to find elevators and jump pads to reach the top of buildings. "Flight" was pretty essential to my wife and I beating the game as fast as we did. I was a little disappointed that the only interiors I could access were the specific levels in the story.

The avengers city is a little bigger than The Incredibles from DI1, but it has a huge vertical aspect to it. My wife and I finished the avengers story mission in about 4 hours of game-play. The avengers city Disney Infinity 2.0 edition is a good time. Disney Infinity 2.0 edition is a good time.
